We have heard Hugh Jackman teasing 'berseker rage' to be a part of the upcoming Wolverine movie, but it appears as though his rage will be so unquenchable that the film will have an R-rating. According to producer Simon Kinberg, Wolverine 3 will feature three things: a different Wolverine, Patrick Stewart and lots of violence.
We already knew Patrick Stewart would be in the movie, but Kinberg has detailed that Wolverine will be "different."
“It’s a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies,” said Kinberg to Collider during the X-Men: Apocalypse London event.
This statement might back up rumors of the next film feature Old Man Logan, but details on that have been scarce. Fox had made it clear that they were looking for Wolverine 3 to get an R-rating, however, they did not list any reasons for the rating. Kinberg cleared that up as well:
“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”
Jackman has stated that Wolverine 3 will be his last time taking the role of Wolverine, but you never know… he could make a cameo in any of the superhero films planned for the years to come.
