Words with Friends Headed to Android Courtesy of Zynga New York

Recently Zynga aquired New York-based developer Area/Code, and the first fruits of their acquistion is an Android version of Words with Friends. Words with Friends is the hugely popular iOS Scrabble-clone that’s been downloaded over 10 million times.

The Android port is said to be completely compatible with the iOS version, allowing iPhone and Droid users alike to compete in the word game. No release date or price for the game has been given, though an ad-supported free version and $2.99 version are likely bets based on the current app store rate.
