DICE has announced that a fifth map, codenamed Operation Hastings, will be unlocked to free of charge once the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC communities collectively amass 69 million team actions.
A team action is classified as a resupply, revive, heal, spot, or repair. Both standard multiplayer and Vietnam expansion actions are counted towards the goal.
Operation Hastings was first included in Battlefield: Vietnam, so it’s fitting that it reappear here, now.
The focus on cooperative actions and teamwork over simple kills is also a nice touch. Maybe people will actually play the game as it was intended, for a while… (Not likely.)
The counting begins on December 21, when Bad Company 2: Vietnam hits Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
