World of Tanks now boasts 40 million registered users, sets new PCCU record in Russia

Wargaming's action MMO World of Tanks has reached an "unprecedented" 40 million registered users worldwide, doubling the game's previous milestone of 20 million set in April 2012.

Wargaming took the time to also boast about another significant milestone; World of Tanks set a new peak concurrent user record in Russia with over 500,000 players simultaneously on one game server.

Back in August, Wargaming released the momentous Update 8.0, which introduced a newly improved game engine along with new features and content. With new content being added on a regular basis and fans continuing to flock towards World of Tanks, Wargaming expects further growth for both numbers.
