World of Tanks PS4 launch date announced

Following the successful beta, Wargaming has announced World of Tanks will officially roll out on PlayStation 4 on January 19, 2016.

For those unfamiliar, World of Tanks is a free-to-play MMO all about armored warfare — "epic battles and furious skirmishes" featuring early to mid-20th century tanks.

While World of Tanks has been available on PC for quite a while now, this particular version has been built "specifically" for PlayStation 4. It makes use of many of the system's features, including Share Play, Vita Remote Play, and Trophy support.

World of Tanks is completely free-to-play and will not require a PlayStation Plus membership. However, PS Plus mebmers will gain access to a Premium Bundle at launch including the exclusive Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. J German Light Premium Tank bundle with 3 days of Premium Account time along with special discounts on other purchases. Additionally, four different Founder's Packs containing a variety of Premium in-game contents are available now in the PlayStation Store.

Players that log in before January 31, 2016 will be gifted the T1E6-PS US Premium Light Tank with exclusive camouflage for free.
