World War Z sequel to release in 2017

In 2013, Brad Pitt teamed up with Paramount Pictures to release what would become the actors's highest grossing film ever, World War Z. The zombie film had reactions all over the scale; some loved it, some hated it and some didn't even know how to feel about it.

However you felt about the film, prepare to strap yourselves in for round two. Paramount has confirmed an official release date for World War Z's sequel.

The film's plot details haven't been revealed, but you can bet that the unkillable Brad Pitt will be back to reprise his role. World War Z left off with the humans fighting back against the zombies in an effort to reclaim their cities and homes. The second film might pick up from this storyline or it may move forward with more loyalty towards the books written by Max Brooks (unlike the original).

The World War Z sequel is set to release on June 9, 2017 and will be directed by The Orphanage's Juan Antonia Bayona.
