If you’re a die-hard World of Warcraft fan who prefers brick-and-mortar retailers to digital distribution, Blizzard today announced that they will be holding several official launch events to celebrate the release of WoW’s third expansion, Cataclysm, on December 7.
On the night of December 6, retailers in the UK, U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, the Netherlands and Taiwan will host midnight launch parties where members of the World of Warcraft development team will be on hand to meet with players and sign copies of the expansion. There will also be costume contests, giveaways, official licensed merchandise showcases and more.
Copies of both the standard and collector’s edition will be available. Cataclysm will change the face of Azeroth forever with remodeled zones and all-new quests, an increased level cap of 85 and two new playable races — the Worgen and Goblins.
