It's been known for a while that Wreck-It Ralph 2 was on the way, especially when star John C. Reilly announced that he had signed on for the project. But sometimes, official announcements like to take their time for whatever reason, and Wreck-It Ralph 2 has proven to be such a case. But no more. Disney has officially announced that Wreck-It Ralph 2 is indeed real and currently in development over at Disney's Animation Studios.
Here's a post from the official Disney Twitter:
Reilly will return to voice the video game villain aptly known as Wreck-It Ralph, who will now apparently turn his attention to wrecking the internet. The piece of concept art that was released shows Ralph standing over parodies of internet giants such as Google and Amazon, so it looks like Disney is looking to expand the scope of the story for the sequel.
Wreck-It Ralph 2 is set to release in theatres on March 9, 2018.
