WW2 shooter Battalion 1944 hits Kickstarter goal

It appears first-person shooter fans are ready to return to the past. With just about all of todya's first-person shooter games featuring exoskeletons, wall-running, and rocket boosting, perhaps gamers are experiencing a bit of fatigue with "futuristic" warfare. How else can you explain Bulkhead's newly announced Battalion 1944 hitting its Kickstarter goal in just three days?

Revealed earlier this week, the WW2-themed shooter has already hit its goal of $142,577. With currently $186,649 pledged — and still 26 days to go — the game is now confirmed to be fully in development for Steam, Xbox One, and PS4.

Fans are now working towards stretch goals which developer Bulkhead said has "something awesome in the works." We don't know what that is exactly, but Bulkhead said it's something "a lot of you have been asking for" while teasing it will "push the authentic WW2 experience to even greater heights."

With Battalion 1944, Bulkhead is striving to recapture the core of classic multiplayer shooters and propel World War 2 into the next generation. For more details, check out the Kickstarter page.
