2K announced a number of new and returning features for this year's WWE 2K17 today. One of the most requested community features, the crowd and back stage playable areas, will be returning to the game. One of the biggest gripes about WWE games have been the control system. Nearly every wrestling game sees a choppy player movement and never really feels realistic. 2K has heard the cries for better controls, and indicated that "We’ve shifted the gameplay experience focus from an arcade-centric, fighting game style to simulation-based gameplay, and WWE 2K17 continues pushing in that direction with both improved and new gameplay mechanics".
The Creation Studio has seen a pretty cool update as well. One of the newest things in this year's game is the replay system. You will be able to record scenes of your matches, and then implement them into a custom Titantron entrance for any customized wrestler. The 2K showcase mode has been removed in favor of the WWE Universe mode and its improvements. according to 2K.
The WWE Universe and My Career will see custom promos, more random interaction and let you feel as if you are actually playing through an episode of either Raw or Smackdown. With Brock Lesnar being the focused superstar this year, how you react when confronted with him in My Career also plays a huge part on what happens next for your superstar. In the post, the EP Mark Little also indicated that "Oh, and since everyone seems to be speculating – yes – the roster is larger than last year.".
We'll need to wait a little longer to find out the entire roster as the game releases October 11th, but each week we see more and more Superstars leading up to launch.
Let us know what you think of these improvements below.
