Earlier this year, we were introduced to the actors that will be taking the roles of Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse. Director Bryan Singer revealed that Alexandra Shipp (House of Anubis) will play Storm, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones) will play Jean Grey, and Tye Sheridan (Mud) will play Cyclops.
The question is, how will X-Men: Apocalypse treat the still developing young mutants? In an interview with Empire, Singer revealed that they are "as much a part of the movie as our main cast [Professor X, Magneto, Mystique]."
The trio won't be taking to the film as developed mutants as they did in previous X-Men films. In Apocalypse, they will still be working to discover themselves and their abilities.
"Scott is not yet the squeaky-clean leader," Singer explained. "Storm is a troubled character who is going down the wrong path in life. And Jean is complex, interesting and not fully mature. It’s fun to see someone struggling with their powers when you know one day they’ll become the most powerful person in the world," Singer said.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to release May 27, 2016.
