X-Men: Apocalypse will both end and reboot the series

It looks as though X-Men: Apocalypse will be both the end of the film series and the beginning of a new X-Men experience. Apocalypse marks an end of film contracts for James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and more than likely Hugh Jackman Wolverine, seeing as he announced his exit from the stand-alone Wolverine series.

Director Bryan Singer gave us a look at the new mutants that will be joining the film, showing off Lana Condor as Jubilee and Sophie Turner as Jean Grey – the new Storm was not pictured. In terms of where the series is going Singer revealed that it's out with the old, in with the new.

“This is kind of a conclusion of six X-Men films, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters,” said Singer during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Singer went on to say that Apocalypse sets the foundation for " the true birth of the X-Men,” said Singer.“This is how it happens.”

The new X-Men series will more than likely be dependent on fan reaction to the new mutants and whether or not Apocalypse makes enough money.
