XBLA finally gets Fez on May 2

We've been waiting for an official launch date for Fez for a long time. Originally planned for a 2009 release, the aesthetically pleasing puzzle platformer from indie developer Polytron has been on a lot of gamers' radar, including yours truly. Well, it looks like the game will finally be getting here, and it's not too far away.

The Xbox Live Marketplace has Fez listed for a May 2 release. That's still a little over two months away, but that's not too long of a wait. So I recommend we all be patient little gamers and play something else until the game arrives.

Fez is set to feature beautiful pixel art and an adorably endearing character. From the images and videos released thus far, it's certainly got the visuals down pat. Here's hoping the puzzling gameplay delivers the goods, too.

I still don't own an Xbox 360, but I would so buy one for just this game. If I'm still not an impoverished denizen of the streets come May 2, you can bet I'll be giving this anticipated indie title a download. Watch out for this one, folks.
