Xbox 360 update fixed ‘voice recognition issues’

Thanks to Microsoft's Major Nelson, we finally know what yesterday's unexpected Xbox 360 update did.

After Xbox social marketing manager Graeme "Aceybongos" Boyd told us that the update contained "just behind the scenes stuff to keep Xbox LIVE the best experience possible", we were left wondering exactly what he meant by that.

Major Nelson has told us that the Xbox 360 system update was a quick fix to "some voice recognition issues affecting non-English speaking members" of Xbox LIVE.

This was the second update in as many weeks from Microsoft.  Last week they released an update that fixed the color problems caused by last December's Xbox 360 dashboard redesign, while restoring the Xbox LIVE Indie Games service to prominence, making it visible on the "top level" of the Marketplace section next to tabs for Xbox LIVE Arcade and Games on Demand.
