Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the development of Rise of the Tomb Raider, won't be responsible for developing every version of the game. Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher revealed that the developer had its eye solely fixed on the Xbox One and that Nixxie Software would handle the Xbox 360 version.
"We're wholly focused on Rise being an Xbox One title without limitation, without even thinking of the Xbox 360 version," Gallagher told Game Informer.
This won't be Nixxie Software's first time handling ports for Crystal Dynamics. Nixxie has worked on several other ports like Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
On Nixxie's website, the developer commented: "Nixxes Software is proud to announce that we're working on Rise of the Tomb Raider for Xbox 360. We have teamed up with our long term partners at Crystal Dynamics to create the best experience for Lara Croft's latest adventure, Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox 360."
Considering that the studio has handled previous ports there shouldn't be much to be worried about with the Xbox 360 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider. In any case, if development for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 remain separate there won't be any unnecessary limitations imposed on the Xbox One version.
Lara Croft will be heading to Siberia in the next installment of the series.
