Xbox 720 developers summit allegedly taking place in London

Crytek technical designer, Sean Tracy, might have inadvertently spoiled Microsoft's secret Xbox 720 meeting allegedly taking place in London.

Tracy earlier tweeted, "Enjoying the Durango developers summit in London."

Durango is the rumored code name Microsoft is using for the next-gen Xbox console (what everyone else refers to as the Xbox 720).

"So far, great swag and interesting talks," he added.

While Tracy's tweet, which has since been deleted along with the account, was harmless in the sense that it didn't reveal any specs or features about Microsoft's next-gen console, it does give new life to possible rumors that Microsoft is indeed working on a new Xbox console.

Of course, this developer's summit doesn't necessarily mean a new Xbox console will appear anytime soon.  For all we know, these could be preliminary talks.

Develop, however, suggests the possibility that Microsoft is "undertaking a large-scale media operation", causing speculation that the company is preparing to reveal plans for projects beyond the current Xbox 360 system – possibly as soon as GDC.

"Lionhead, a Microsoft subsidiary studio that Develop understands is working on a next-generation games project, has begun a mystery seven-day countdown on its website. The timer will conclude during GDC week," the site suggested.  The site also mentions "a pack of UK journalists" are headed to San Francisco to attend a private Microsoft event.

Those events could be related to future Xbox 360 cloud gaming tech or video games, like Halo 4, however.

Despite all of the rumors that Microsoft is working on a new Xbox, the company has repeated multiple times that they have no plans to announce new hardware.
