Xbox head talks E3 2017 and upcoming releases

Microsoft's head of Xbox has taken to the Xbox Wire to release a statement on the "epic Xbox 2017 games lineup." A large portion of Spencer's post was focused on Halo 2's release, but the head of Xbox did go on to comment on how this year's game lineup will be pretty big in comparison to the 2016 lineup. On top of that, Spencer teased Project Scorpio's upcoming release and some E3 2017 announcements.

"We are preparing to launch the most powerful console ever made this holiday – Project Scorpio – along with a diverse lineup of games. In fact, we are committed to delivering even more exclusive games for both Xbox One and Windows 10 this year than we launched in 2016.

I was very proud of our first-party lineup in 2016 and I am encouraged by an even bigger and more differentiated first-party lineup in 2017, starting with today’s launch of Halo Wars 2."

The post specifically goes on to name State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and Sea of Thieves  – so it's very likely that we will be seeing these games during E3 2017. Other than those games, Spencer didn't comment much on other AAA games – besides Halo 2 which released today.

Spencer also went on to detail that Phantom Dust would be hitting the Xbox One and Windows 10 this Spring, with Xbox Play Anywhere support, cross-play and frame rate improvements. Voodoo Vince: Remastered will also be available on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam this Spring, through the ID@Xbox program. In addition to Voodoo Vince coming through ID@Xbox, we will be seeing Cuphead, Below, Thimbleweed Park, Tacoma, Ark: Survival Evolved, We Happy Few and more coming this year through the program.
