So Xbox LIVE is kind of a mess right now. It seems Microsoft's online service is still experiencing issues following today's downtime. Although the issue with signing in appears to have been resolved, Microsoft still notes "limited" functionality across Xbox One and Xbox 360 in regards to achievement unlocking and purchasing/downloading digital content.
According to the Xbox LIVE Status page, users are unable to purchase downloadable items and download items that have already been purchased. The warning reads:
"Can’t purchase content or subscriptions? Don’t worry! We’re working hard to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.
Additionally, are you having a tough time launching titles you’ve purchased digitally? Or trouble launching your favorite Xbox applications? We’re working on these issues too! Thanks for staying patient while we get things back to normal. We’ll post as soon as we have more information."
Browsing the Xbox Video Store and Xbxo Music Store, including renting, purchasing, and playing content are currently affected.
Additionally, Microsoft also notes that unlocking achievements on Xbox platforms is also experiencing issues.
"We’re aware that some of you are having issues unlocking Achievements, and we want to assure you that we are working hard fix this as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience, Xbox members. We appreciate it!"
It's unclear how much longer the issues will remain, but it's been fairly persistent all day.
And because someone always feels the need to call us liars, it's worth mentioning that these problems may not be affecting everybody, but they do exist as evidenced by Microsoft's acknowledgement.
