Xbox marketing manager teases “exciting” PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds news for this week

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is one of the most anticipated games coming to Xbox One this year, and since its reveal at E3 2017, we haven't heard much about a release timeframe other than Q4 2017. Given that we are now in the midst of Q4 2017, the time would appear right to announce the launch date for the Xbox One version with Paris Games Week going one right now. Xbox's Marketing Manager Aaron Greenberg tweeted out a picture of him, CH Kim, and PlayerUnknown himself, Brendan Greene alongside a tease pointing to "some exciting news" to be revealed this week.

Check it out:

Given the amount of hype and available information surrounding PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and its massively successful run on Steam Early Access, the only thing that Xbox fans really need to know is when it's coming to the platform. It's also worth noting that in the tweet, the ending characters "대박" is a Korean phrase use to express a feeling of awe, so if you're looking to get hyped about PUBG, now might be the time.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is currently aiming to release into Xbox's Preview Program, which is basically Microsoft's version of Early Access. PUBG will be testing new vaulting and climbing mechanics for release version 1.0, and it's worth pointing out that the game is set to get a full release on PC during Q4 2017 per its Steam page.

Not saying it'll happen, but a simultaneous full release on PC and Xbox One would undoubtedly qualify as "exciting news."
