Xbox One game prices for the UK revealed

We've known for a while now that first-party Xbox One games in the United States will stay priced at $59.99. It appears Microsoft will follow suit for games in the UK, as the company's store posted the batch of Xbox One games with a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of £49.99. Again, this is the same price as most new releases for current-gen consoles are sold for across the pond.

Microsoft's online store currently lists Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5, and Kinect Sports Rivals.

Sony has yet to announce any UK pricing for its games, though the company has also confirmed first-party games sold in the U.S. will also remain at $59.99. I think it's safe to assume the same in the UK.

What remains to be seen, however, is if third party titles from Ubisoft, EA, etc. will see a price hike as we enter the next-generation. It's been long said that the next era of gaming will bring increased development costs; will those costs reflect in the price of future video games? I sure hope not. Gaming is already expensive enough.
