Xbox One gets price cut in UK; free copy of Titanfall

There have been some big announcements coming from Microsoft today. First we got the Xbox One Titanfall Bundle, and now we have the first price cut for the system, though only in the UK. Beginning February 28, gamers in the UK can pick up a brand new Xbox One for just £399.99. That's a savings of £30 from the £429.99 it cost at launch.

What's more, the new price will apply to the Titanfall Bundle that was also announced today. So for £399.99, not only can you get an Xbox One, but you'll also receive a free download code for a digital copy of Titanfall, one of the most anticipated next-gen games of this year.

Although the Xbox One Titanfall Bundle is available worldwide, it remains priced at $499.99 in the United States as no price drop was announced here. However, by purchasing this bundle it's like you're getting it at discount anyway as you're saving $60 in value. So in the end we all win — except for my brother, @Lance_GZ, who bought his Xbox One on Friday specifically for Titanfall.

Microsoft's reasoning behind the price was "about giving UK gamers the best value we can," according to Xbox UK Marketing Director Harvey Eagle. He reiterated that the new price point is "UK Only. Nothing to announce in other countries."

Comparatively, even at £399.99, the Xbox One remains £50 more expensive than the PlayStation 4.
