If a product listing on Amazon Canada is to be believed, Microsoft could be releasing a Media Remote for the Xbox One as early as next month. The leaked listing doesn't reveal any details but it's priced at CDN$24.99. There's also an image of the remote which appears to be rather small in size with your basic button functionality included.
Microsoft has been touting its Xbox SmartGlass and even Kinect for primary Xbox navigation, but as GameZone's editor-in-chief Mike Splechta put it, "Nothing beats pressing the actual buttons of a remote." It also helps that the Media Remote is instant as opposed to having to launch the SmartGlass App and waiting for the devices to sync up.
If true, the Xbox One Media Remote is expected to release on March 4, 2014.
