Xbox boss Phil Spencer has reiterated plans that Microsoft will continue to release Xbox One system updates on a regular, monthly basis in 2015.
Speaking on the latest Major Nelson podcast, Spencer said that December's system update will be smaller than recent ones, echoing a similar statement previously said to IGN.
"We usually don't do big updates in December," Spencer said on the podcast. "December I expect to be a time that we're just going to make sure people are turning on consoles and the games are playing well and everything's working great. That's job number one for us."
About two weeks ago, Spencer said Xbox One's anticipated screenshot-sharing feature will likely be pushed back to 2015.
"As we roll into 2015 we definitely have a road map for monthly updates," he reiterated on Major Nelson's podcast. "When they'll start up again we'll watch. We're kind of working through the schedules on those things now but it's a commitment that we have as a platform team that we'll continue monthly updates."
The latest Xbox One update was released in mid-June, adding new features that "take advantage of the multitasking capabilities of the Xbox One and connect with your friends in better ways than before." Continuing to improve the system on a monthly basis, the November Xbox One system update has already been rolled out to preview members. The update is said to bring "new and exciting ways to watch TV and interact with the Xbox LIVE gaming community."
