The CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick has had quite a bit to say during the Technology, Media, & Telecom Conference in New York. He spoke on BioShock's importance, on Evolve becoming a permanent series for Take-Two and now has spoken on the potential of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
According to Zelnick, we haven't seen the Xbox One and PlayStation 4's power be fully utilized as of yet. Even with the new releases for the consoles, they haven't even "remotely" offered us the true power of the consoles.
This is a pretty big statement, coming from the CEO of a company that publishes major games, like Grand Theft Auto 5. "We have yet to see entirely what the technology can allow," said Zelnick. "We've had a couple releases for new-gen, but I don't think we remotely have seen what can be done, and that's super exciting. And that speaks to many of our titles; hopefully all of our titles, ultimately."
While it's a big statement, it's not inaccurate. The games that were first released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were not on par (graphically speaking) with the games that released towards the end of the consoles life-span.
We can only wait and see what the future holds for games on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
