Xbox One sales have ‘skyrocketed’ since November’s holiday price cut

Microsoft's constant Xbox One price cuts and attractive bundles are finally paying off, as the company revealed today that sales of its new console have "skyrocketed" since the new price took effect on November 2nd.

"Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the U.S. have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday," Xbox VP of Marketing Yusuf Mehdi said. What's more, the Xbox One has led "generation 8" console sales — aka topped the PS4 — in the United States for the past two weeks. If this pace continues, it would be the first time the Xbox One outsells the PS4 in the United States for a month since both consoles launched last November.

In total, Microsoft will have sold-in to retailers more than 10 million Xbox One consoles.

"As we reach this milestone, I remain awestruck by your passion for games and your support of Xbox One.  Thank you for an incredible year," Mehdi concluded.

Looking at various retailers' Black Friday plans, the best deals are clearly in favor of Microsoft's Xbox One. At most stores, you'll be able to snag an Xbox One with an extra game or two for around $329. At Walmart, they'll even throw in a $30 gift card. Sony, on the other hand, seems to be sticking to its $399 price for the PS4.
