Xbox One system update delayed

Today's Xbox One update — the first major update for Microsoft's new console — has been delayed. Originally expected to roll out today, the update will now release some time this week. Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb confirmed the delay on Twitter, but did not offer any sort of explanation for its delay.

"FYI: The February [Xbox One] System Update will ship this week, but not today. The team is working on finalizing. More details when I get them," he announced.

When it does release, the update will offer "many new improvements," including a lot of behind-the-scenes updates for developers building apps and games for the new system. Additionally, Xbox One consumers will see the return of the battery power indictor, support for USB keyboards, and the ability to see and manage storage space on the console.

Microsoft has plans to release another update in March in preparation for the launch of Titanfall. It will contain a number of new features and improvements, most significantly to the Xbox One party and multiplayer systems.
