Xbox One to lose Snap Mode for a faster dashboard and “bigger things”

Microsoft has been doing everything they can to improve the Snap mode for years, but it looks like they are finally giving it a break. Snap was originally intended to be a feature that allowed Xbox owners to watch TV or run an app side-by-side with a game. Unfortunately, the feature required too much and weighed the system down.

The next Xbox One System Update is planning on bringing a slew of new features and none of those features are improving the Snap mode because it's officially getting cut in favor of a faster Xbox dashboard.

Xbox Platform head Mike Ybarra detailed why Snap was removed on Twitter:

What the "bigger things" will turn out to be have yet to be revealed, but we can hope that it's something tasty.
