Recently Microsoft announced a list of games that would definitely be included in the Play Anywhere service for Xbox One. However, it appears as though Microsoft forgot to mention a key detail – all future Microsoft published games would be hitting the PC through this service.
Yep, that means the next Halo will probably be on PC.
Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi took to the Windows Blog to discus Microsoft's upcoming Anniversary Update for Windows 10. In this post he mentions the Xbox Play Anywhere program and confirms the fact that future Microsoft published games will be hitting the PC.
"With the Xbox Play Anywhere program, you can buy a game once and play on your Windows 10 PC and Xbox One with shared progress, shared game saves and shared achievements. Every new title published from Microsoft Studios will support Xbox Play Anywhere and will be easily accessible in the Windows Store.
Xbox Play Anywhere games will be offered within the new unified Windows Store on both Windows 10 and Xbox One. You’ll be able to find the content you want faster and purchase game and app bundles, pre-orders, pre-downloads and subscriptions such as Xbox Live Gold."
You have until Play Anywhere releases on September 13th to enjoy truly exclusive titles, after that, it's fair game for the PC.
