Xbox reiterates 4K game updates will be free

Previously released Xbox One games will take advantage of the extra power that the Xbox One X offers through game enhancing updates. Even though Microsoft has been fairly clear that the updates will not cost users, the question has continued to be asked in the community.

Aaron Greenberg, the Marketing Manager at Xbox, has reiterated that the game enhancing updates that allow games to take advantage of the Xbox One X will indeed be free.

Everyone can rest assured that the 4K updates that will be coming to a number of games, including Halo 5 and Gears of War 4, will not come at any cost. The very same concern on enhancement patches costing gamers circulated when the PS4 Pro was revealed, however, neither upgraded and enhanced console will charge gamers for updates.
