August was a record-breaking month for Xbox LIVE Arcade, says analyst firm Forecasting & Analyzing Digital Entertainment, LLC (FADE).
The increase in sales can be thanked, in no small part, to Microsoft’s “Summer of Arcade” promotion and its excellent lineup of titles such as Limbo, Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light and Monday Night Combat. Revenues are estimated at $17.5 million, up six percent from last year’s then record-breaking $16.5 million.
Non Summer of Arcade titles Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Dead Rising 2: Case Zero were also major successes on XBLA for the month of August, says FADE, with Case Zero selling an estimated 87,000 copies in just two days.
