XIII Remake shows its arsenal of destruction in new trailer

Publisher Microids shared a new weapons trailer for the upcoming XIII Remake. The remake of the cult FPS from the early 2000s will come out on November 10th for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Watch the trailer below!

The rather unknown studio PlayMagic handles the remake. Since the developers are industry veterans who have worked on major franchises like Halo, Call of Duty, Crysis, and more, the pedigree for good first-person shooting is there.

It was originally intended to launch last year but the developers put a whole year of extra time into their game. This experience in the genre will be important. The original XIII left a good impression mostly thanks to its story and art style. Back in 2003, cel shading wasn’t known that much in gaming. As such, playing XIII felt like an interactive comic book.

XIII is a remake of the cult first-person action game that was initially released in 2003. You play as “XIII”, a man without an identity, in a solo campaign with numerous twists and turns. Inspired by the eponymous graphic novel, the game features a completely reinvented and unique cel-shading design. In XIII, players can also take part in fierce multi-player fights.

Like most games from almost two decades ago, the mechanics didn’t age as gracefully however. That’s where the new trailer comes in. While it does focus on the weapons, as its name implies, it’s still full of gameplay moments. And what we see looks promising.

Movement is snappy, weapon animations pack a punch, and explosion effects are awesome. The new and advanced lighting of XIII Remake as a  is a massive upgrade over the original.

Pre-orders for the game are live and you can get the standard edition at the budget price of $49.99 on all platforms.
