This year might be prime for sequels from publisher Xseed Games, who's known for localizing Japanese games like Unchained Blades and the Ys series.
Speaking to Kotaku, Director of Publishing Ken Berry commented on what the company has in store for the US.
"We will likely be announcing sequels to a couple other titles that we've released in the last year or two," Berry said. "Maybe in the next month or two."
As for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, an RPG from developer Nihon Falcom that ends on a frustrating cliffhanger, Berry addressed the possibility of localizing the game's first sequel, Second Chapter (or "SC").
"We haven't given up on it," he said. "We're talking possible platform changes, a huge amount of text, technical issues … That one is still difficult."
Xseed published The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky for PSP last year, a release made possible through their partnership with Nihon Falcom, announced in 2010. The deal gave Xseed the rights to localize Ys Seven, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys I & II Chronicles in North America, as well as the Trails in the Sky trilogy (known as the Sora no Kiseki trilogy in Japan).
Located in California, Xseed has since brought Ys Origin to Steam, as well, along with Ys: The Oath in Felghana (which they also released on PSP).
