Sega has announced today that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life has been delayed. The original release date was planned to be March 20, however, it’s now been moved back to April 17.
Sega told fans on Twitter that the delay was a “Tough business decision” but promises the delay was simply to better the eventual launch and not due to other issues. In fact, to double down on the show of good faith, it was announced that the game will get a demo on February 27. Further, the demo will allow players to transfer their progress over to the full game.
With the later release date, further information of the game will be shared between now and its new landing date to tide us over. This may not be too terribly bad for Yakuza 6’s sales, however. March is so filled to the brim with high-profile releases, it would likely cause gamers to have to choose specific titles due to budget reasons.
If you’re anticipating the release of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, make sure to pick up the demo in February to tide you over. Yakuza 6 will be available April 17 on PS4.
