Yakuza dev announces PS4 exclusive Fist of the North Star game

The team behind the Yakuza series has announced that they'll be making a game based on the popular 80s manga, Fist of the North Star. The game is set to arrive in 2018 for Japan but there's no word on if or when a localized version for the west will release.

Fist of the North Star was about a hero named Kenshiro who protected innocent people who survived a nuclear war that annihilated most of mankind. Kenshiro practiced a deadly form of martial arts called Hokuto Shinken and used his power to keep balance and peace. It spawned various animes and video games during its peak.

The game is reportedly set after the events of the manga and will follow Kenshiro on the hunt for his presumed dead fiance who is rumored to still be alive. It's the only thing that keeps him going and he'll punch his way through as many people as it takes.

Fist of the North Star is set to hit PS4 in 2018.
