Yakuza Kiwami 2 confirmed for PC next month for just $29.99

Sega has finally spilled the beans on the PC version for Yakuza Kiwami 2. On May 9th, PC players will finally be able to continue the legendary Japanese gangster’s adventure. Preorders are up on Steam at $29.99. Check out the trailer!

For the longest time did the Yakuza franchise remain exclusive on PlayStation systems. Things took a drastic change last summer however when publisher and developer Sega announced their plans to bring the games on PC. It started with Yakuza 0 last August. A fitting choice as it deals with the origins of series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. Just two months ago, in February, Yakuza Kiwami followed. The remaster of the very first Yakuza game is another great choice for PC players who missed out on the game during the PlayStation 2 era.

When a single gunshot takes out the Fifth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, Kazuma Kiryu must journey to Sotenbori, Osaka, to broker peace between rivalling clans. Kiryu is pulled back into the life he desperately wanted to leave as he faces the ambitious Ryuji Goda, the Dragon of Kansai, who will stop at nothing to get his war. In this world, there can only be one dragon…

So it comes as yet again a wise decision for Yakuza Kiwami 2 to be the next in line of Yakuza PC ports. As the titles might give away, it’s the remaster of the second Yakuza game from 2006. Owners of a PS4 already were able to enjoy the great remaster since 2017.

With three Yakuza games now being available on PC, it’s naturally to be expected that the remaining and future Yakuza games will also make their way at some point. Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 all are getting the remaster treatment and are available for PS4 in Japan. While Sega didn’t confirm officially, it’s likely that these games will also come out in the west. Seeing Sega’s recent outlook towards PC, we’re confident that those three games and Yakuza 6 will come out for PC sometime in the future.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is now live on Steam and can be preordered for a budget price of just $29.99.
