The newest trailer for Yakuza: Like a Dragon is out, and it’s wild. Even for the utterly absurd standards of the Yakuza franchise, the spin-off is going full ham with the lovable quirkiness and absurdity of the developer. Check it out here!
Infant roleplay, hostess clubs, and underground fight clubs in the Yakuza series always showed how the developer liked mixing the brutal reality of mob life with the seemingly insane antics of its pseudo-realistic world of the Japanese crime world.
Experience dynamic RPG combat like none other. Switch between 19 unique Jobs ranging from Bodyguard to Musician, using the battlefield as your weapon. Take up bats, umbrellas, bikes, signs, and everything else at your disposal to clean up the streets!
When you’re not busy bashing heads, relax by hitting up the local arcade for some classic SEGA games, compete with locals in a no holds barred go-kart race around Yokohama, complete 50 unique substories, or just take in the scenery of a modern-day Japanese city. There’s always something new around the corner.
But by going from real-time brawling to turn-based RPG-action Yakuza: Like a Dragon allows the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio to dive into realms of comedy and absurdity with no breaks at all. It’s arguably best portrayed in today’s new trailer which gives a glimpse at the insane ways you and your party can go about defeating enemies in fights.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will come out on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this November 13th. Next-gen consoles Xbox Series X will get the game when the console launches in November and PlayStation 5 owners will get the game soon afterward.
