Last month, Deep Silver and Southend Interactive revealed that they were collaborating on a multiplatform project. The mystery game was said to be based on one of Deep Silver's existing franchises. Now, the publisher has announced its upcoming game, and it looks like it could be a winner.
Titled Sacred Citadel, the game features beat 'em up gameplay, as well as RPG and loot elements. Deep Silver and Southend are attempting to bring something fresh to the long-running beat 'em up genre and the Sacred franchise. Players will have access to light and heavy attacks, weapons for close combat and ranged offense, and multiple class types.
Additionally, you'll be able to go it alone or take on the adventure alongside some pals. Sacred Citadel is looking to provide fun 2D action, but the game doesn't just look like an entertaining romp for beat 'em up aficionados; it's also quite easy on the eyes, featuring colorful visuals, interesting level design, and huge bosses. Just like the good ol' days!
Sacred Citadel is slated for launch sometime in 2013. The game will land on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC. Sorry, folks, no Commodore 64 support after all. Time to start signing that online petition! In the meantime, watch out for more news straight from Deep Silver and Southend.
