Yep, there’s a new Witcher movie on the way

While Universal plans on resurrecting the Mummy film franchise, the Mummy's production company has moved on to work on something entirely different. The Sean Daniel Company, a production company, has announced a partnership with Platige, a motion picture company, to bring The Witcher to the big screen.

Now, this isn't the first time we have seen a Witcher film, there's a Polish one already out there, but this new Witcher will be made for the Western audience.

The movie will not be an adaptation of the game, but an adaption of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel – the source of the game's content. The Witcher movie will be written by Thania St John, who has written for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and directed by Oscar-nominated director Tomasz Baginski.

They have no announced actors yet, but the movie it set to release in 2017.
