Yes, you can play as a female in Fallout 4

There was some worry when Bethesda first announced Fallout 4 that you would only be able to play as a male character. Well, in tonight's lengthy gameplay demo, Bethesda confirmed that you'll be able to play as a female as well.

The studio showed off the character creation process which starts off with you (and your significant other) standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom. From here, you'll be able to sculpt your characters face, choose their skin color, and even select your gender.

As a side note, Bethesda confirmed that Fallout 4 will begin on a Saturday morning with the threat of nuclear war looming. Of course, the bombs fall, you head into a vault, and re-emerge 200 years later.
