Last year, before Star Wars Episode 8 had a title, the man behind the voice and the puppeteer for Yoda was spotted heading to the set of Episode 8. Now that Episode 8 has the title of 'The Last Jedi,' which is plural, Variety has touched base with Oz and asked him about the role.
When asked about the rumors that Oz would be reprising his role as Yoda in Star Wars Episode 8, Oz replied:
"I feel like I’m a prisoner at war here, and I can only give you my name, rank and serial number. To be true to the people who asked me, and they are kind of my family, I have to say I’ve been asked not to talk about it. I love Yoda. I would be happy to talk to you about it at the time they let me."
Oz's response was carefully crafted to neither confirm nor deny, however, lack the lack of denial seems like a confirmation. Then again, he could simply be keeping the mystery in hopes of building further interest in The Last Jedi.
