Yoshi’s Wooly World release date announced at E3

Along with new footage and images, Yoshi's Wooly World received a release date during Nintendo's E3 digital event this afternoon. The game will be releasing on Wii U later this year on October 16th, 2015.

The developer spoke on how numerous hours went into development of the characters, as well as the environments being constructed of yarn. Players will be able to unravel portions of the environment in order to access hidden areas as well as eliminate enemies, who are also made out of yarn, by unraveling them.

The game will be fully compatible with it's Wooly amiibo as well. Multiple different colors of Yoshi will function in the game and each one will provide various, individual abilities to use within the game. Nintendo mentioned during the event that the Wooly amiibo was not the original idea and only came to light when a designer felt they needed a look that resembled the uniqueness of the gameplay.

Yoshi's Wooly World is launching exclusively on the Wii U.
