You can enter Destiny’s Vault of Glass raid pre-level 26, but it’s not recommended

At 2:00am Pacific (5:00am Eastern), Destiny's brand new raid, The Vault of Glass, will open to all — inviting level 26 players to take on "the greatest" challenge in the game.

Up until now, it seemed as though the raid would only allow level 26 Guardians to enter. Even on the website, Bungie warns that "not everyone will qualify."

"Among those who do, not everyone will succeed. To even approach this trial of teamwork and combat, the Guardians in your Fireteam will need to be Level 26," Bungie writes.

However, in an update today, the developer seemed to suggest that you may be able to access the Vault of Glass before you actually reach level 26. They don't recommend it though.

"Bungie Specialists have confirmed that, while you may be able to access the Raid before you reach Level 26, such acts would be very foolish," Bungie said.

For those who aren't yet level 26, don't worry. The new raid is not a limited time event. "It will be available to you when you are ready," the developer added. "Although it will only save your progress for one week!" As Bungie explains, it's "very likely" that you won't finish the Raid in one sitting. If you choose to save your progress, you'll have one week to resume your mission where you left off with the same Fireteam leader.

While the required level to access the new raid remains in question, one thing is certain: Vault of Glass is going to be tough. I eagerly await the challenge, Bungie.
