You can now play Fallout: New Vegas as a choose-your-own-adventure on YouTube

If you were a fan of choose-your-own-adventure books as a kid, a YouTuber called Many a True Nerd might have the thing for you. Fallout: New Vegas – Choose Your Own Apocalypse is a YouTube series inspired by the choose your own adventure novels of old, modernizing the format of brief narrative beats mixed with user selection.

Each video is very brief, lasting between 30 seconds to a minute and a half, so the story moves along at a brisk pace. It's also worth noting that your choices can end up killing you, so there is legitimate weight to your actions.

Every time you die, you are brought back to the first video in the series (embedded below), but you can work around the penalty of failure by simply hitting the Back button.

But that's no fun.

Just make sure you play Fallout: New Vegas – Choose Your Own Apocalypse on a computer, as mobile devices may not embed the annotations that pop up on the screen.

Have fun, and if you like what you see, you can check out more of Many a True Nerd's videos here.
