Super Smash Bros. series director Masahiro Sakurai took to Miiverse today to announce that players will be able to play as female Animal Crossing villagers in the new Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.
"Pic of the day. You can choose to play as the girl villager too!! How lovely," Sakurai said alongside an image showing a quartet of alternate villager options.
Other playable female characters in the new Super Smash Bros. include Rosalina and Luma, Princess Zelda, Princess Peach, and female options for the Wii Fit trainer.
Super Smash Bros. will launch for the Nintendo 3DS this summer, with the Wii U version following this winter.
