Your Rayman Legends PS4 questions answered

With Rayman Legends coming to PlayStation 4 in less than a week, Ubisoft has taken to the PlayStation Blog to answer a few of your questions including the major differences between the new version and the previously released PS3 and Vita versions.

While we've already mentioned that the PS4 version (as well as Xbox One) will do away with loading times, Senior Game Designer Emile Morel outlined a few more benefits.

"In this version, thanks to the power of the PS4, the textures of the game are more compressed, so you can see that the game’s graphics are clearer and more detailed than before," he said. He also added that that with no loading times, navigation in the game is faster and "more enjoyable."

The PS4 version will also have a new Camera Mode. You can enter this mode by pressing the DualShock 4's touchpad. From there, you simply guide your fingers around the touchpad to zoom in and out and drag the image frame. Then simply press the Share button to take a picture and share it with everyone. "This Camera Mode is a great way to observe in detail all the characters and settings of the game, and a great way of expression to create wacky images with elements found in the game."

"On PS4, you can also use the touchpad to scrape the famous Lucky Tickets, then you will really feel like you’re scraping lottery tickets (with the sound of scraping straight from the PS4 joystick)!"

Lastly, the PS4 version will include new playable heroes: Assassin Ray who is inspired by Black Flag's Edward Kenway, Funky Ray, and Champion Ray.

Another feature of the PS4 version is the ability to play it on the Vita using Remote Play. You'll be able to play the entire game on your Vita, without the need to use your TV. Unfortunately, you cannot control Murfy in touch mode on the Vita "because even in Remote Play mode you will continue to play the same version of the game when you use the PS4 joystick."

"The Murfy levels on PS4 have been designed to be played with a classic character, such as Rayman or Globox, for example. So, in using your PS Vita in Remote Play mode, you will find the originality and specificity of this PS4 version," Emile explained.

Head over the PS Blog for the entire Q&A regarding the PS4 version of Rayman Legends.
