Starting today, Google will be officially launching their Youtube Gaming site. It will be available in all countries Youtube is available. An app for both Android and Ios will also be available but only in the US and UK with other countries "coming soon".
In a report by Arctechnica, Youtube is becoming a one stop shop for all gaming content on Youtube. The web address,https://gaming.youtube.com/, will go live tomorrow and be the "go-to destination for anything and everything gaming." according to Youtube. All content will be sorted by game title and content contained within the video in order to enable an easy access type of search.
Another cool feature is the streaming dashboard ability. A "Streaming now" dashboard will be enabled showing viewers what streamers and games are currently on display. According to the report, streaming will be conducted on HTML5 and also have one of the most requested features that Twitch users want and have yet to receive: DVR mode. Once enabled, streamers will automatically loop the latest four hours of a stream so viewers will have the ability to rewind anything they missed. Of course, if your stream is longer than fours you won't be able to rewind to that point but the content will be available in the final, uploaded video.
The site is closed now but still able to be viewed as a splash page. Be sure to click around on the little heart for now as each individual jewel provides a different gaming sound effect. Can you name them all?
Both the web address and mobile apps will be live starting later today but no official start time has been announced. I'm not sure about you, but Google is definitely still PISSED about losing Twitch to Amazon and is probably sitting around going "Oh yeah, watch this b**ches. How ya like that sh*t!" This is gonna be good
