YouTube suspends Logan Paul’s ad revenue after stunt involving dead animals

A major hit in the popular YouTuber's bank account.

You may not have watched much or any of his content but if you watch the news or go on social media, you’ve probably heard his name. Former Vine star and now YouTube celebrity Logan Paul has pulled yet another stunt just weeks after apologizing for his last one which involved filming a man who had committed suicide.

Paul came under heavy fire from everyone including the media, massive stars such as Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, Chrissy Teigen, and more for his inappropriate behavior towards Japanese culture and for going into the infamous Suicide Forest and filming and posing with a man’s corpse. The video caused such an uproar that Paul took down the video from his channel which has over 16 million subscribers at the time of writing, most of which are very young children, and went dark on social media for several weeks after posting an apology video.

Paul then returned with a new video where he talked about turning over a new leaf, becoming a much better and mature human being, and he even raised awareness for suicide and mental health. While few forgave him, it was a step in the right direction.

Now, just a week after his return and a month after the Suicide Forest video, Paul is back to his disgusting antics. Logan Paul posted a video where he uses a taser on two dead rats more than once and attempted to perform CPR on a fish that was suffering on dry land… all in the same video. We’re not going to post the video here but it’s still live on his channel if you wish to find it.

After a ton of outrage from the internet, YouTube has finally decided to take action after standing on the sidelines for the last two months. The Google-owned website previously removed Paul from their Google Prefered program which puts specific channels front and center so they can be reached easily and also cut ties with him for future partnerships such as YouTube Red exclusive content such as feature films and videos.

YouTube has gone ahead and also suspended Paul’s ad revenue stream which is estimated to bring in over a million dollars for the YouTuber each month. Of course, Paul has other ways of making money through his merchandise, songs for sale on other platforms, and more but it will likely serve as a wake-up call once he realizes how much money he’s losing.

In a statement to The Verge, YouTube said the following: “After careful consideration, we have decided to temporarily suspend ads on Logan Paul’s YouTube channels. This is not a decision we made lightly, however, we believe he has exhibited a pattern of behavior in his videos that makes his channel not only unsuitable for advertisers but also potentially damaging to the broader creator community.”

As of right now, this is just a suspension on Logan Paul’s ad revenue meaning they will restore his account at some unknown point in time. We’ll continue to keep you updated if this story develops.
