YouTuber builds fully functioning Atari 2600 emulator in Minecraft

Patience is a seriously a virtue

A YouTuber named SethBling is shaming everyone who has ever played Minecraft by creating a working Atari 2600 emulator in the game.

During his presentation, SethBling says he built basic programming out of more than 2,000 command blocks using binary code to run the processor, video card, memory system, and more.

He made "cartridges" for Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and Pac-Man, but there’s a small caveat to his sorcery. The old 2600 ran at 60 frames per second, however the Minecraft version can only run 60 FPS every four hours – which means a single barrel from Donkey Kong takes about 15 hours just to drop one level.

While it’s unbearably slow to play, the technical wizardry deserves high praise considering some of the other impressive things to come out of Minecraft.
