YouTuber leaks entirely new Creative Mode for Fortnite

Officially to be announced tomorrow

It looks like a major leak for the most popular game at the moment, Fortnite, just breached the internet. A YouTuber released a lengthy video showcasing an entirely new, third game mode with Creative Mode. This sandbox mode for Fortnite enables players to create and alter existing maps or even new mini-games.

YouTuber Lachlan posted a 15-minute long video, detailing the announced new game mode for Fortnite. Lachlan took down the video shortly after uploading it but other users saved and re-uploaded the video already on Reddit. Lachlan is a major YouTuber with over 9m subscribers and his mistake to upload leak the Creative Mode preemptively has no doubt led to anger over at Epic Games.

The leak looks very credible and makes us believe Epic planned to officially unveil their new game mode during this week’s The Game Awards. With only a day left until the show, we don’t expect Epic to address the leak but instead go ahead with their original plan and unveil it during tomorrow’s award show.

So, what is the Creative Mode looking like? It’s built upon the foundation of Fortnite and thus players can manipulate existing maps and change them to their liking. The sandbox mode is very reminiscing of Minecraft’s sandbox mode and is likely an attempt by Epic to attract an even bigger audience than they already have.

Sure, Fortnite Battle Royale is free and massively popular but not everyone enjoys competitive multiplayer. As Minecraft’s huge success has proven, there is a large crowd of gamers – young and seasoned – who’d rather craft their own world, stories and mini-games. Creative Mode looks to be perfect for them.

Check out the mirror of Lachlan’s video to learn more and make sure to tune in to The Game Awards tomorrow where there will be much more than just awards. A smattering of over 10 game reveals are teased and much more.
