Remember the iconic Barbasol can from Jurassic Park? You know, the one that was used as a vessel for smuggling dinosaur embryos instead of shaving? Well, it's back!
As part of a new partnership with Universal Pictures, Barbasol will release limited-edition Barbasol/Jurassic World collector cans, along with a national television campaign run and consumer sweepstakes.
The 10 oz. Barbasol Original and Soothing Aloe Shaving Cream
Limited edition can designs, created in collaboration with artist Mark Englert, feature custom Pteranodon and Velociraptor illustrations. They'll be available in stores from May 1 through July 1.
We last saw the Barbasol Original Shaving Cream can 22 years ago when Dennis Nedry was caught trying to smuggle the dinosaur embryos out of Jurassic Park. What happened to that can? I'm not sure if it'll actually be in the upcoming film Jurassic World, but you can see it in the new spot below.
"20 years ago a secret was left behind, but to survive you have to evolve. Capture these Limited Edition Barbasol collector cans before they’re gone," the teaser reads. Could it be that this Barbasol can plays a role in Jurassic World, or is Universal Pictures just trying to capitalize on our nostalgia?
